My City of Kitchener, Artist-in-Residence term officially starts today!
Seeking Forest Watchers of All Ages. Join the Program.
Would you like a meaningful context and incentive for exploring the natural world near you? To create her felted works and songs, Sarah needs your help in experiencing Kitchener’s natural areas, from the established parks to the small nature oasis or hidden gem. Sign up with Sarah at sgranskou.com to receive regular prompts, updates on her events at natural areas and info on places to explore. Receive a gift of appreciation and an honourable mention on Sarah’s final exhibit, should you respond to most of the prompts. Forest Watcher prompts range from fun and creative to scientific observation, appropriate for a range of ages and interests.
Forest Watcher Prompt #1:
“I have often sat at the base of a tree and seen an old face looking at me…” Have you?
Below are a few of the forest trolls that we created for the spring scavenger hunt on March 26 at Huron Natural Area, hosted by Rebecca Seiling of the Kitchener Natural Areas Program. I should have made ice trolls!
Do you see any faces in the trees? Where? What type of tree? I would love to see them. Your photos may even be part of a music video.
